With ‘FÄKT’, the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) has developed a target group-orientated video format for science communication in the digital space and especially in social media. Scientists use videos and accompanying materials to familiarise young people between the ages of 10 and 14 with their research topics. The first videos and accompanying channels were presented in mid-May.
Researchers can now apply for video packages again until 17 June 2024. The prerequisite is that the corresponding research project is quality-assured, e.g. through funding.
The aim is to awaken understanding and enthusiasm for science and their own research among a young target group. The video packages and further information are also to be made available to teachers for teaching scientific content.
