Vienna is the capital of the Republic of Austria and with around 1.9 million inhabitants the most populous city in Austria. Located on the Danube, Vienna is also the largest and at the same time oldest University City in the German language and cultural area and can thus look back on a long tradition. However it is not just the university landscape that makes Vienna a popular place of study for around 200,000 students of whom about a quarter come from abroad. In view of the extensive leisure and cultural offerings, the attractive nightlife, the culinary specialties, the Viennese coffee house culture and more than 2,000 green spaces, it is not surprising that Vienna has already been voted the most livable city nine times in the Mercer study.

At the Vienna Regional Office we are happy to assist you before, during and after your arrival in Vienna so that you can spend a successful and unforgettable stay.

Organized excursions and excursions during the academic year provide an opportunity to get to know the city of Vienna and the surrounding area better and are an additional opportunity for exchange with other scholarship holders.
