From 1 April to 31 July 2023, school classes, individuals and families can participate in eight selected citizen science projects and win prizes.

The range of topics for the new Citizen Science Award projects is broad and offers a variety of opportunities for participation: Three projects come from the natural sciences and the humanities, one from the social sciences and one is in environmental research - at the interface of natural sciences and technology.

NEW: Research as a family and win!

The Citizen Science Award wants to inspire all citizens across generations for research and innovation and encourage them to actively participate in research projects. In order to strengthen trust in science in all sections of the population, from 2023 onwards families will also be able to participate in research and win in a separate category, in addition to school classes and individuals. School classes can participate in all eight projects, five projects also involve individuals and families. Participation in all projects is possible throughout Austria.
