This year's Forum Science Communication, which will take place in Bielefeld from November 15-17, will focus on a new culture of debate, because democracy needs debate. It is preceded by disagreement, which in the best case follows in agreement. A prerequisite for constructive debate is a good culture of argument and debate. But what exactly distinguishes this culture? How has it changed in recent years? And what are the new qualities of disputes that are conducted via channels in virtual space, on talk shows or even in protest actions on the street? These and other questions about the culture of debate will be the focus of this year's Forum Wissenschaftskommunikation.
