The University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna has been honored as the world's fourth best university for the study of the performing arts.

The eighth edition of the QS World Rankings by Subject, published by QS Quacquarelli Symonds on February 28, 2018, lists the world's top universities for the study of 48 different subjects. Rankings were accessed in 2017 by more than 30 million students, parents, policy makers, and guidance and career counselors.

This year, the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna has improved by one place compared to last year. That puts her behind the Julliard School (United States) and two conservatories in the United Kingdom: the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. This is one of the highlights of a successful year for Austrian higher education.
