National Council unanimously approves continuation of exchange programme CEEPUS

At its plenary session on 27 March the National Council unanimously approved the continuation of the higher education exchange programme CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies). This programme, which has connected numerous students and lecturers from Central and Eastern Europe since its introduction in 1995, will be continued for another seven years. The OeAD as the National CEEPUS Office is responsible for managing the scholarships.

Simegn Kassa Alamirew completed PhD at BOKU University

Simegn Kassa Alamirew, a distinguished lecturer at Bahir Dar University, has dedicated over a decade to academia, specializing in social anthropology. In December 2024, she completed her PhD research on “Dietary Behaviour of Women of Reproductive Age in Ethiopia: Socio-Cultural Factors and Care for Women“ at the Institute of Development Research, BOKU University, Vienna, under the supervision of Prof. Stefanie Lemke and funded by APPEAR.

Supporting African Science and Tertiary Education (SASTE) Grant - 4th Call open until November 2025

The SASTE grant supports high potentials from Sub Sahara Africa working in the field of Agriculture, Forestry, Water Management, Renewable Energies, Nutritional Science, Human and Veterinary Medicine for a research stay in Austria.
