    Film Days 2018

    In collaboration with the Vienna-based film festival this human world, APPEAR organised an evening at the Top Kino Vienna. In this event, researchers of the APPEAR project ROOTDEVPAL in Palestine were invited as speakers for the discussion after the movie "The Judge".

    Partnerships between Austria and the South Caucasus: featuring APPEAR and Erasmus+

    There are many and various cooperations between Austrian higher education institutions (HEI) and partner institutions in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan - this was clearly visible during this forum entitled "Schwerpunktregion Kaukasus: Vertiefung und Good Practice mit Beispielen aus Erasmus+ und APPEAR", which took place during the OeAD and Erasmus+ HEI conference 2018 in November at FH Campus Wien.     APPEAR in practice_11: The art of mastering e-learning

    "We tend to forget that it is not that ‘e’ but the ‘human’ that is learning when we discuss the opportunities of digital learning", stated one of the speakers during the APPEAR in practice event on 28th of November. However, using these new technologies requires skills, knowledge and of course the respective infrastructure. Based on the lessons learnt from the SCARA project the societal impact of new technologies, accessibility to and adoption of new technologies were discussed.

    APPEAR in practice_10 recap

    It was no lecture that was given during APPEAR in practice_10, which took place on 23rd of October at OeAD. Rather, the floor was opened after short introductory statements and the majority of the time was allotted to a discussion with the audience of about 60. The format of the event did justice to its title “The art of achieving inclusive education”, and it reflected the considerate and transdisciplinary mode of collaboration of the INEDIS project partners featured that evening.

    Workshop recap: How to maintain your wellbeing to be productive and to achieve your goals

    When the semester starts students feel excited and have a lot of expectations. But they also have a huge workload and feel the time pressure. Pursuing academic work while also enjoying social life and looking after health and wellbeing is the key to achieving goals. This is why on the 5th of October we organised a workshop on how to find a good work-study-life balance. OeAD scholars learned coping mechanisms to deal with stress, time pressure and health issues. They tried out practical exercises for relaxation and strength. Moreover scholars had the opportunity to share ideas and experiences with fellow colleagues.

    Workshop "How to become an active agent for human rights" - recap and photo gallery

    How to become an active agent for human rights is a crucial question at a time where authoritarian leaders and governments get into power all over the world. In order to defend human rights it is important to have a sound knowledge of this concept. Therefore, our workshop started with an introduction by Jens Kessler and Julia Streimelweger from Amnesty International Austria who presented the general concept of human rights, the history of the human rights movement, and major (international) legal frameworks on human rights.
