Community Counts: Rural Social Work in East Africa

The international research team Janestic Twikirize from Uganda and Helmut Spitzer from Austria has published another article based on research findings of the APPEAR-funded project PROSOWO (Professional Social Work in East Africa). The article “Community counts: Rural social work in East Africa” adds to the growing body of scientific literature on indigenous knowledge systems and approaches for social work practice in Africa. It contributes towards decolonizing teaching, learning and research by making available the hitherto non-dominant epistemologies of the Global South.
