She defended her PhD in Agriculture from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna in April 2023. The research was embedded in the APPEAR project "Strengthening of Higher Education, Research and Community Outreach in Agro-Ecology in the Rwenzori Region in Western Uganda".

Hasmik Hovakimyan from Armenia finalised her PhD with excellence

On 2 June 2022, Hasmik Hovakimyan graduated from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna – the same year the university celebrates 150 years of existence and ‘green’ education.
