

The OeAD Center for Citizen Science regularly invites Citizen Science and Young Science contact persons at universities, universities of applied sciences, universities of applied sciences and non-university institutions to network meetings. The aim is to exchange views on tasks and upcoming challenges relating to citizen science and science communication and to learn from each other.
Christiane Grill from the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft presented news from the Open Innovation in Science Center (LBG OIS Center) located there: The 4th OIS zam: Forum will take place in Vienna on October 9 and 10, 2025. In its material database, the OIS Center provides materials that can be used for OIS / Citizen Science activities. The OIS Center offers free webinars and training on demand.
Walburg Steurer then presented initiatives of the Public Science Department at the OeAD: The Citizen Science Award invites people of all ages to participate in research until July 31. There was also news about the Children's and Youth Universities. The Pupils at Universities initiative is becoming increasingly popular. More than 500 researchers are already visiting schools throughout Austria on a voluntary basis as science ambassadors. The further training series for Young Science and Citizen Science contact persons in 2025 will focus on artificial intelligence in science communication.
Elisabeth Schauermann from the OeAD Center for Citizen Science reported on current findings on attitudes towards science. She provided insights into the Eurobarometer and TISP studies.
