IIASA’s history, their current research and the possibilities they offer to young researchers. IIASA is situated in a former imperial palace called "Blauer Hof" and was founded to promote East-West scientific cooperation during the Cold War. Today more than 450 scientists do research on the critical issues of global environmental, economic, technological, and social change. Their findings provide valuable [...] valuable options to policy-makers to shape the future of our changing world. We have also met Paul Yillia a former scholarship holder and a guest research scholar at IIASA. Besides his academic and scientific journey he talked about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), his work with the UN initiative "Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL)" and cooperation possibilities with IIASA. Our visit was
projects at the universities of Bratislava (May 2010) and Würzburg (October 2015) as well as participation in international scientific conferences. Reflection The OeAD scholarship I have received for conducting research in Vienna in May 2017 was very important for my scientific career. My host institution was the University of Vienna, namely the Department of Slavonic Studies, and I would like to express [...] to library funds of the University of Vienna, I had the possibility to find many interesting books and papers concerning my research topic. Certainly, they are very useful for me in preparing my scientific papers, especially in elaborating the theoretical aspects of the interrelations between literature and philosophy. New ideas and new experiences I have gained working on this project, became a good [...] scholars, to establish contacts with very nice and friendly people being ready to give advice and to help. I believe my participation as an OeAD scholarship holder was successful and productive for my scientific and academic activity.

My cooperation with Austria started with a call within the Scientific and Scientific & Technological Cooperation (S&T Cooperation) - WTZ scheme for a research proposal between India and Austria for which I applied in the area of Bioenergy with the Austrian counterpart at BOKU, Wien. Due to its high scientific quality, innovative and applied nature it was selected and jointly funded by [...] graduate and PhD students. So far, he has published over 62 SCI international peer-reviewed papers (>1882 citations, h-index 24), 29 conference papers and 8 book chapters. Executive Director of the African Academy of Sciences who argued that the scientific landscape on the African continent has greatly advanced in the last few decades. There has been an increase in institutions conducting a diverse array of much-needed scientific research. This, coupled with increased talent and growth in African scientific expertise, has resulted in a very good local innovations landscape [...] Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). Never before have so many representatives of African research institutions met with Austrian scientists to showcase their collaborative projects and deepen scientific partnerships between Austria and African countries. The conference started with the opening speech at the historical festive hall of the Austrian Academy of Sciences ÖAW by the Africa-UniNet president [...] president Nzula Kitaka, voiced her pleasure to be back in the “birth city of Africa-UniNet” which “proofed to be an ideal network providing a unique opportunity to share ideas and widen perspectives in scientific cooperation, building capacities in higher education and research institutions, creating new networks, especially through Africa-UniNet funded projects.” As she mentioned the conference provided

I would vouch for myself that viewing things from a different scientific perspective and establishing a nice scientific collaboration and cooperation between my home university and the host university is the major part of the takeaway back home.
