Dr. Nyadoi Priscilla is a trailblazing Ugandan scientist and OeAD Scholarship alumna who studied population genetics of Tamarindus indica L. at Austria’s AIT and the University of Vienna. She earned her PhD from Makerere University in 2011. Today, she serves as Deputy Director at Uganda Martyrs University and is the Chairperson of the Organization for Women in Sciences for the Developing World (OWSD) Uganda National Chapter. The 21st edition of the APPEAR in practice series, which took place on 10 June 2025, focused on gender-sensitive urban transformation in informal settlements and slums in Ethiopia and Mozambique. The event presented key results from the ongoing GIRT project – Strengthening Research and Educational Competences of HEIs for Gender-sensitive Urban (InfoRmal Settlement) Transformation –, a collaboration between universities in Ethiopia (Addis Ababa University, Bahir Dar University and Mekelle University), Mozambique (Lúrio University) and Austria (University for Continuing Education Krems).
