The toolbox was developed as part of a doctoral project at the University of Münster. The aim is to empower citizens to become researchers of their own initiative and to proceed in a structured manner. The contents offer a playful introduction to project management and include, for example, text templates, working materials and graphic tools. At the same time, the data collected during the project is incorporated into university transformation research and supports the understanding of the conditions for the success of social innovations.
Interested parties can gain an insight into the concept and the opportunities for participation at an online information event on Tuesday, 23 September 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event will also provide an opportunity for questions and discussion, so that initial project ideas can already be developed.
The toolbox will be tested in a scientifically monitored trial phase from October 2025 to December 2026. Groups of three to 15 people can further develop their project ideas during this period. The university offers technical and methodological support, and in return asks for brief feedback after each work phase. The total time commitment is around 20 hours, which can be flexibly distributed across face-to-face meetings, an online meeting and preparatory tasks.
