Hans Karl Peterlini has been Professor of General Pedagogy and Intercultural Education at the Department of Educational Science since 2014. He had already been acting as Vice Dean in the faculty since 2020 before taking over as Dean. One of the key priorities in his new role as Dean is to highlight the role of science in social transformation, encompassing everything from an analytical perspective to active co-creation. The variety of disciplines within his faculty also offers opportunities to link different fields and further develop research, teaching, and applied practice for democratic, inclusive, and transcultural processes.
Dr. Peterlini has been also associated with OeAD since 2022 as project leader of two Sparkling Science projects. In Transform4School and transform2gether, he investigates with students, teachers, and other education stakeholders how democratic processes and participation can be strengthened in everyday school life. Both projects are examples of participatory research that closely links scientific findings and school practice.
The OeAD wishes him great success in his new role!
