After an impressive visit to Delhi University the programme focused on strategic panels on current trends in the two countries. Successful examples from practice from selected universities showed the added value of long-term international partnerships for scientific excellence and global knowledge transfer. A key activity of the forum was a matchmaking session in which higher education institutions were able to explore common priorities and possible collaborations in bilateral discussions. The direct institutional exchange served as a catalyst for future bilateral projects and initiatives.
The day was rounded off by an evening reception at the residence of the Austrian Ambassador in India, Ms Katharina Wieser, which around 20 OeAD alumni also attended. The evening offered the participants the opportunity to deepen contacts in a relaxed atmosphere and to get new impulses for future projects.
The forum impressively showed the importance of international cooperation in higher education for creating a connected and future-oriented scientific landscape and the part that academic cooperation with India can play in this.
APAIE 2025
Immediately afterwards the OeAD-GmbH, together with nine Austrian higher education institutions, presented Austria's diverse higher education landscape at the APAIE 2025 in New Delhi under the brand Study in Austria.
At the Study in Austria booth delegates got information about Austrian higher education institutions, study options, scholarships and potential cooperation opportunities. While the representatives of the Austrian higher education institutions maintained existing partnerships and explored new cooperations the OeAD continued its activities to position Austria as a first-class location for international study and research.
Austria thus once again confirmed its role as an attractive and high-performing destination for international students and researchers.
