Culturally relevant STEM education
The webinar “Culturally relevant STEM education. Keys to building place-based youth-led STEM learning capacity in and outside of the classroom” presents practical educational approaches that can be derived from informal science education and applied in a variety of teaching and learning settings. Speakers Christine Marizzi and Helene Dworak (LBI SOAP) explain how culturally responsive pedagogy and inquiry-based methods can help to align learning processes more closely with the experiences, backgrounds, and lives of young people and promote independent, place-based STEM learning. Participants will receive suggestions and strategies for integrating these concepts into their own teaching and outreach practice.
