Due to my good reputation at BOKU, Prof. Leitgeb invited me back several times to share and exchange different scientific works and scientific opinions with him. 2002 was my last time in Austria with a scholarship administered by OeAD, the North-South-Dialogue-Scholarship Pogramme financed by [...] 1990s when I was fond of Austria and wanted to complete my doctorate studies at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) . In the beginning, it was difficult to travel without a scholarship, but my ambition led me to take a risk and travelling without any financial support from my home country. Laura and Lisa also presented two initiatives by OeAD scholars: There is a Whatsapp group for scholarship holders and the weekly online German course with [...] established during the last lockdown in spring 2020. After Lisas and Lauras presentation the group divided into four breakout-groups which met up in smaller virtual rooms. Moderated by OeAD staff, scholarship holder presented themselves and shared hobbies, research interests, funny situations and passions. The former OeAD scholarship holder Randa Natras was awarded a scholarship to participate at the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) held from 15 to 21 August 2018. The engineer of Geodesy from the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina previously had been awarded an Ernst Mach Grant under which she conducted her research project “Regional Ionosphere Modelling over Bosnia and Herzegovina using Global [...] Alpbach (EFA) as a life-changing experience from other scholars from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, the young researcher, who is always eager for opportunities, decided to apply for the EFA scholarship programme covering participation fees, costs for accommodation and a daily allowance for food. “Through its interdisciplinarity and by gathering smart minds from around the world, the European Forum [...] whom she had the opportunity to discuss in a formal and informal environment. “Encouraging critical thinking and constant questioning was my other personal highlight”, says the engineer about her scholarship.
