Space--time finite element methods for parabolic evolution equations in polygonal and polyhedral domains

The aim of this cooperation research project is the computation of the singular part in the expansion of the solution of parabolic evolution equations. So far, in this case no extraction formula are known. Hence we describe the state of the art and the basic methodology first for boundary value problems of elliptic partial differential equations.
