As accessible venues for science education and exchange, libraries offer ideal conditions for introducing people of all ages and social backgrounds to research. As part of this professional development workshop, the OeAD presented the Citizen Science Award research competition as a practical introduction to collaborative research.

The eleven participants from school and public libraries received background information on the “Citizen Science” research approach and learned about the Citizen Science Award as a concrete implementation option, including details on this year’s projects.

During a brief group activity, the librarians used a selected example project to discuss how they could integrate collaborative research into their libraries and developed concrete implementation strategies for doing so.
