The OeAD Center for Citizen Science was represented several times in the program. Elisabeth Schauermann, together with Georg Grasegger (Austrian Academy of Sciences) and Didone Frigerio (University of Vienna), held a workshop on “Learning Materials for Citizen Science.” She was supported by Elena Ritschard (OeAD Center for Citizen Science).
In the “Learning and Teaching” session, Elisabeth Schauermann presented initial findings from several workshops on role concepts for all participants in citizen science initiatives with schools. This is a topic that she has been exploring in depth for some time together with Julia Lauss (Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce) and Martin Scheuch (University of Applied Sciences for Agricultural and Environmental Education).
Petra Siegele, head of the Public Science department at OeAD, together with Brigitte Tiefenthaler (Technopolis Group), presented results from the evaluation of the “Sparkling Science 2.0” funding program, which OeAD coordinates on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Women, Science, and Research.
