Survey on training opportunities for libraries in the field of citizen science

An international survey is currently underway, aimed at authors and organizers of training activities such as webinars, courses, or workshops that provide continuing education for librarians in the field of citizen science.
1 min read · 25. August 2025

The aim is to gather experience and best practices in designing such offerings and to derive practical guidelines for developing effective training programs. The results of the study will be published in the open access journal “Citizen Science: Theory and Practice.”

The survey is aimed at people who have already designed training programs specifically or partially for librarians. These can be online, face-to-face, or hybrid formats. Both completed and ongoing programs will be considered. A separate survey can be completed for each training program developed.

Participation is anonymous, takes about ten minutes, and is open until September 5, 2025.
