Under the title "The Dynamics of Processing Knowledge in Citizen Science Projects. Enhancing Participation in Public Citizen Science Formats” the authors examine new forms of collaboration between citizens and science using the example of the completed project “Gruß & Kuss” (Greetings & Kisses).
Particular attention is paid to the so-called love letter round tables. This format also served to impart knowledge in the project but also created spaces for dialogical co-creation and joint linguistic theory formation on the analysed letters. The study shows how citizens in the context of ‘citizen humanities’ not only provide data but also actively contribute to the construction of knowledge.
