Participation can be a valuable way for scientists and citizens to create knowledge together. However, this path should not be taken haphazardly. This is why the PartWiss project has just published a guide to participation in research. It is intended to make it easier for new actors in particular to start designing participatory projects.
The guide consists of two parts: The first part offers an overview of participatory approaches and provides an orientation to the diverse existing formats and communities. The second part - “Central aspects in ten fields of action” - brings together scientific and practical experience from various participatory communities.
The guide is suitable both for reading as a whole and as a reference work on individual topics, as each chapter can be read independently. Particularly practical: the guide was designed in the form of cards, which can also be used as excellent workshop material.
