The Citizen Science Award project “BuzzOff!” shows how scientists can inform interested citizens and, in the best case, encourage them to participate in research. The project team has created a new introductory video. In this one-hour video, interested people learn interesting facts about invasive mosquito species and why they are dangerous, how to build traps for these mosquitoes and catch the animals, and how to correctly document their participation in the project to increase their chances of winning.
The video is available on Youtube at the following link: BuzzOff workshop - YouTube
The “AmphiBiom” research project, in which interested people of all ages can take part in research as part of the Citizen Science Award, also explains in a video details about listening to amphibian calls and how to record them in the associated AmphiApp.
