In the Citizen Science Award project ‘SoilBlitz’, five uncomplicated tests are carried out to determine soil indicators such as soil texture, soil colour, water infiltration rate, earthworm population and vegetation cover. The measurement results are documented via an app on the ‘Soil Health Watch’ platform and then analysed.

A standardised toolkit will be made available to the participating school classes for these tests. As part of an online workshop on 8 April, the researchers explained the individual methods to the teachers in detail so that the research can be optimally integrated into the lessons.
