Launched in 2016 as ‘Citizen Science Day’ by the American platform SciStarter and Arizona State University, various citizen science organisations and initiatives are now participating worldwide and, for the first time, increasingly in Europe. ECSA (the European Citizen Science Association) and the D-A-CH-AG for German-speaking countries are also involved.
D-A-CH working group
The D-A-CH working group is celebrating Citizen Science Month 2025 with a joint social media campaign to draw attention to the diverse activities and communities in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The working group continuously promotes the exchange and cooperation of citizen science activities in the three countries, implements its own programmes, such as a series on open research data, and works on the further development of the content and quality of citizen science in German-speaking countries.
Over the course of April, the members of the working group will use their communication channels to provide information about collaborations, platforms and opportunities to participate in research. In addition to the OeAD's Citizen Science Award, whose co-research period starts in April, there is a lot to discover among the partners: new projects on the Citizen Science platforms, the awarding of the Citizen Science Prize at the University of Münster, training workshops at mit:forschen! and much more.
Don't miss a thing!
