Three generations of scholarship holders from Ethiopia

Dr. Zerfu Hailu (top) completed his PhD in 2002. Being a great networker he linked up many Ethiopian students with Austrian scientific supervisors. He is one of the Advisory Board members of the EduLAND project. Read about his impressive career in his alumni portrait.

Dr. Sayeh Agegnehu (middle, right) is Vice-President of Debre Markos University and local coordinator of the APPEAR project EduLAND. Read more about his successful career in his alumni portrait.

Dr. Gebeyehu Shibeshi (middle, left) is senior lecturer at Bahir Dar University and works for a regional governmental organisation - BoEPLAU. Bahir Dar University is one of two Ethiopian partner institutions within this project, with Shibeshi Gebeyehu being the responsible partner on behalf of his institution.

Abebaw Andarge and Ayelech Kidie (in front) from Debre Markos University are current APPEAR scholars ship holders at BOKU Vienna, pursuing their PhD and Master degree respectively in the framework of the EduLAND project.

The master and PhD studies in Austria of the named persons were conducted in the framework of the North-South-Dialogue Scholarship and the APPEAR programme, financed by the Austrian Development Cooperation.
