Volunteering at the Open Learning Initiative Courses for Refugees – OLIve

The University of Vienna is offering free academic courses for individuals with refugee or asylum seeking status in Austria or another country of the European Economic Area (EEA) who have an interest in pursuing university studies.

Kidia Kessiee Gelaye works as a volunteer for the Open Learning Initiative Courses for Refugees – OLIve.

Kidia Kessiee Gelaye is an Ethiopian PhD candidate at the Institute of Hydraulics and Rural Water Management, at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). His dissertation focuses on tackling the irrigation agriculture salinity problems in the arid area of the Afar Region in Ethiopia. He holds his BSc from the Jimma University of Ethiopia in 2008 and he graduated with an MSc from BOKU in 2013. Previously he worked at the Samara University of Ethiopia.
