Workshop “My life in Austria: Transforming social skills into intercultural competence”
“The visitor is the king” is a proverb from Burkina Faso but also used in many other countries. It refers to cultural values in the respective society. Culture can be defined as a way of life that a group of people shares and it builds on the behaviours, beliefs and values that they accept. The objectives of this workshop that was organised for APPEAR scholarship holders were 1) to understand the impact of culture on one’s identity 2) to strengthen awareness for cultural differences and similarities and 3) to develop skills in order to handle intercultural challenges and communication.
