Alumni Talk with Retno Ardhani from Indonesia on 22 May 2025

Retno Ardhani shared her journey and reflected on how her cultural background has shaped her professional interactions in scientific collaborations. She also addressed the tension between pursuing an academic career and the societal expectations faced by women in science. Furthermore, she offered thoughtful insights into the challenges and opportunities that come with working in diverse academic environments. Her talk was a powerful reminder of persistence and inspired the participants to pursue their own paths with confidence.

Muhammad Bilal Bin Majeed, a very successful OeAD alumnus, is an Assistant Professor of Genetics at the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences in Lahore. Together with his lab group, he has recently published a new article on gene editing of a fungus that causes respiratory infections in humans, animals, and birds.

Nationalrat befürwortet einstimmig Fortsetzung des Austauschprogramms CEEPUS

In der Plenarsitzung des Nationalrats am 27. März wurde einstimmig die Fortsetzung des Hochschul-Austauschprogramms CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies) beschlossen. Dieses Programm, das seit seiner Einführung im Jahr 1995 zahlreiche Studierende und Lehrende aus Mittel- und Osteuropa miteinander verbindet, wird nun für weitere sieben Jahre fortgeführt. Der OeAD ist mit der Abwicklung der Stipendien als National CEEPUS Office beauftragt.
