Tesfaye Getachew is a former APPEAR scholarship holder who completed his PhD at the BOKU in Vienna. The topic of the PhD was “Estimation of genetic admixture levels in Awassi-Local crossbred sheep using ancestry informative genetic markers for designing crossbreeding scheme”. He is now working on a community-based sheep breeding programme at the Livestock Department of the Debre Berhan Agricultural Research Center.
