EcoStories: Citizen science for environmental education and social participation

The focus is on participatory research activities in which pupils work together to investigate local environmental issues and collect scientific data. Through the use of intercultural methods, “EcoStories” promotes the social inclusion of young people from migrant backgrounds whilst also strengthening their scientific skills, digital skills and other key competences.

To this end, the project is developing practical resources, including a guide for young citizen scientists, digital teaching and learning materials, and professional development opportunities for teachers. The aim is to support schools in using citizen science as a method for inquiry-based learning and to strengthen the exchange between educational institutions, the research community and society. The materials developed are available to the international community and offer points of reference for researchers working in the fields of citizen science, science communication or education for sustainable development.
