The forum highlights innovative collaboration between research and society and promotes networking between participatory projects. Participation from the field of citizen science was also high. Several current Sparkling Science projects, including 'Forest Groove‘, ’The Generation-Friendly City‘ and ’PLASTIC.ALPS", were represented with sessions and posters.
As part of the Horizon project ‘RIECS-Concept’, the ZSI Centre for Social Innovation and the OeAD Centre for Citizen Science offered a theme café on Friday. Under the title "Make a wish: A common infrastructure for citizen science in Europe", forum guests were able to participate in the development of ideas. The aim was to gather ideas on how citizen science in Europe can be made more accessible and networked in the future. We provided insights into the current Horizon project ‘RIECS-Concept’, in which a concept for a citizen science research infrastructure is being developed in a participatory manner. In an open discussion, the participants gathered ideas, exchanged experiences and developed concrete user stories. These are now being fed directly into the concept development at European level.
