Perception differences between university management and the general public
How secure is freedom of research and teaching in Germany? Citizens and university administrators have surprisingly different views on this. While universities generally consider academic freedom to be guaranteed, the general public more often expresses doubts, for example due to political or economic influence.
In the lunchtime talk “Academic Freedom and Science Communication” organized by Wissenschaft im Dialog, experts discuss where these differences in perception come from and what they mean for the relationship between science and society.
