Online Alumni Talk with Paul Yillia from Sierra Leone, 15 October

The speaker, Paul Yillia – a seasoned scientist, policy specialist, and international advisor – shared insights from his academic journey and professional career. He reflected on his doctoral studies at the Vienna University of Technology, his work with international research organizations, his role in co-founding The Energy Nexus Network (TENN), a regional renewable energy ecosystem hub in Sierra Leone, and his perspectives on global energy developments. The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A Session with the participants.

APPEAR in practice_15: Transdisciplinary approaches for university-community cooperation

Project partners from BOKU Vienna, Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), Tbilisi State University (TSU), and IMC FH Krems presented their project, its results and outcomes and the network they established in the Caucasus region. Furthermore, recent PhD graduate and APPEAR alumni Lela Khartishvili from Georgia and current APPEAR scholarship holder Tigran Keryan from Armenia introduced the recently published manual for university lecturers.

Film screening "Revolution with bare hands", May 2016

This documentary commemorates the national uprising of October 2014 in Burkina Faso, which led to the overthrow of the president Blaise Compaoré. Different protagonists of the uprising are interviewed and symbolic places during the events were visited. The film was screened in the OeAD on 12 May 2016. In the following discussion Idrissa Kabore and Komandan Mano shared their experiences of the political struggle in Burkina Faso.
