For the eighth time, the “biblio aktiv” trade fair brought together librarians from across Lower Austria for an in-depth exchange on current trends, practical solutions, and new ideas for library work. More than 150 participants took the opportunity to gather information, network, and learn from one another at the Lower Austrian State Library in St. Pölten.
Over 50 exhibitors presented a wide range of offerings, including the OeAD. At the booth on science communication and citizen science, numerous librarians learned how they can integrate active participation in the “Citizen Science Award” research competition, as well as visits from science ambassadors, into their daily library work. In numerous discussions, the potential of libraries as vibrant places of learning and interaction was highlighted. In this way, they not only provide spaces for science outreach and active participation in research, but also offer excellent networking opportunities for people of all ages interested in citizen science.
