The Impact Unit is a project run by Wissenschaft im Dialog that promotes a strong impact-oriented approach to science communication. With free resources, workshops, and consulting formats, it supports communicators, researchers, funders and decision-makers in making the quality of their science communication approaches visible and systematically developing projects. A central element is individual evaluation consulting, which is designed as a low-threshold, confidential format and offers practical support for specific questions.
During a 30-minute video call, participants can present their projects and clarify specific questions about the planning, implementation, or evaluation of assessments. Among other things, the consultation helps with the development of appropriate assessment goals, the selection of suitable methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, or feedback instruments), the formulation of indicators, and the handling of results. In this way, the Impact Unit empowers stakeholders to use evaluation strategically—not only for accountability purposes, but also as a learning-oriented tool for the sustainable quality development of their science communication.
