This edition of “Getting to Know Diversity” highlights the role of carbon and climate from the perspective of the world's forests and how children and young people are becoming “agents of change” in the field of emissions reduction. For project representatives, the event offers the opportunity to present citizen science formats to the public, build interdisciplinary networks, and receive direct feedback from society.

Participation in such public science events increases the visibility of one's own research topics, promotes the recruitment and retention of contributors, and supports the translation of scientific questions into socially relevant contexts. In addition, practical experience can be gained in dialogue with citizen scientists, which can contribute to methodological reflections and new research approaches.

Friday, April 17, 2026, 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. | NHM Getting to Know Diversity, Deck 50
