Every year from April 1 to July 31, people of all ages can actively participate in current research projects as part of the Citizen Science Award research competition. In the workshop, teachers, librarians, and other interested parties learned how they can participate in the Citizen Science Award projects Climate Agents, Forest Groove, and Butterflies on the Trail 2026 with their classes or library visitors.
In addition to an introduction to the Citizen Science research approach by Melanie Mayrhofer (Public Science Project Manager) and Petra Siegele (Head of the OeAD Public Science Division) and its use in education, participants were given an overview of the projects. In a World Café, project representatives Caroline Trcka-Rojas, Irene Gianordoli, and Janja Jurkovic-Dörsch offered in-depth insights into the co-research activities and provided targeted support to workshop participants in preparing for participation in the research competition.
