As part of the Citizen Science Award 2026, the center offers several formats specifically tailored to the needs of scientists.
Training workshops: Research made easy
A key offering are the training workshops on participating in research at the Citizen Science Award 2026, where researchers have the opportunity to present their projects and demonstrate in a practical way how school classes can be successfully involved in research projects. The workshops address didactic, organizational, and communicative aspects and show how citizen science can be implemented in a quality-assured manner in a school context. One workshop will take place on February 26, 2026, as part of the ÖCSK 2026 in Leoben, and another on March 12, 2026, at the PH Vienna.
Presence at the Science Day at the University of Education Styria
On March 11, 2026, the OeAD Center for Citizen Science will offer two introductory workshops. Researchers will have the opportunity to present their projects, meet potential education partners, and gain direct feedback from practitioners.
Visibility for research projects and networking with schools
The Citizen Science Award runs annually from April 1 to July 31 and offers people of all ages the opportunity to actively participate in ongoing research. For researchers, this means not only a broad data base, but also sustainable science communication and the promotion of young talent.
With these activities, the OeAD Center for Citizen Science makes an important contribution to the professionalization of citizen science and to successful cooperation between research and schools.
