At this year’s EPALE and Erasmus+ conference, “Learning to Navigate: Orientation, Learning, and Decision-Making as Key Competencies for the Future,” participants discussed the skills adults need to navigate a time of profound social and technological change. Through expert presentations and practical examples, the conference demonstrated how basic competencies and innovative learning spaces can contribute to sustainably strengthening participation and quality of life.
The OeAD Center for Citizen Science was able to contribute to this discussion with its offerings and present its activities to numerous representatives of adult education institutions. In particular, the exchange during the workshop “Learning Spaces of the Future: Libraries as Places of Orientation and Participation” organized by the Austrian Library Association allowed for an exploration of the possibilities for citizen science and science communication with adults in the library setting.
