Under the umbrella brand Study in Austria , the OeAD together with 16 Austrian higher education institutions – the highest number ever participating at APAIE – presented Austria as a study destination at the international higher education conference and exhibition in Hong Kong. This strong presence highlights Austria’s continued commitment to international cooperation and academic exchange.

At the Austrian booth, participants had the opportunity to connect with partners from across the Eurasia-Pacific region and beyond, strengthen existing collaborations and initiate new partnerships. For the first time, the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) was also part of the Austrian booth.

Another programme highlight was the presentation of Austria’s higher education system and the wide range of study opportunities for international students at the “Study in Europe” booth.

A highlight of the week was the Austrian Reception 2026, which took place on 25 February in cooperation with ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Hong Kong at the Mirage Bar & Restaurant. More than 100 guests from the international higher education community attended the networking evening, which further strengthened exchange and academic cooperation across the Eurasia-Pacific region.

A special highlight was the alumni pitch by Nianhua Liu, researcher and graduate of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme at the University of Salzburg, who shared insights into his study experience in Austria.

We would like to thank all participating partners, APAIE for the professional organisation, and Hong Kong for the warm hospitality.
