The participants gained insights into the history, principles and practice of Citizen Science, especially in schools, and shared their own associations and experiences.
In a group work phase, they developed ideas for potential citizen science projects in Albania, for example on topics such as environmental protection and research into local customs. They discussed target groups, possible tasks and the involvement of other stakeholders. The results were then presented and jointly reflected upon.
This workshop was part of a project led by the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) with the aim of promoting citizen science in Albanian youth research and youth work. During the study visit to Vienna, the participants also visited the Natural History Museum. The findings from the workshop will be incorporated into the development of an e-learning course on this topic, which should enable the participants to actively implement projects themselves.
