The third edition of the online teacher training “Children and Youth Join the Research: When Citizen Science Comes to Schools” will take place on November 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event is organized by the OeAD-led working group “Citizen Science in/with Schools” in collaboration with the University College of Teacher Education Vienna. The target audience are teachers interested on learning about citizen science and looking to integrate it into their lessons.

The training will explain what citizen science is and how school classes can get involved in projects across various disciplines. Experienced teachers will share insights into their citizen science experiences in a school setting. In addition, participants will learn about current projects and, using concrete examples, explore how to successfully incorporate citizen science into their own teaching in various subjects and formats.

Registration via the University College of Teacher Education Vienna: from August 15 until September 15
