ECSA 2026 Conference
Every two years, the ECSA conferences bring together hundreds of researchers, practitioners in the field of citizen science, policy makers, science funders and interested citizens. At round tables and workshops, participants exchange experiences and explore the transformative potential of citizen science.
ECSA 2026 will take place from March 4 to 7, 2026 in Oulu, Finland. It will be hosted by the University of Oulu in the year that the city holds the title of European Capital of Culture.
The theme of the 2026 conference is Citizen Science between Center and Periphery. This theme highlights the diversity of regions, from urban agglomerations to remote areas in the north and south. It explores the important connections of citizen science to sustainability, culture, history, political and legal systems, resources, public health and more.
