Citizen Science seminar with "ABC of Dialects"

The third lecture of the Citizen Science Seminar in the winter semester 2024 at BOKU University focuses on the project ABC of Dialects. Amelie Dorn and Rebecca Stocker from the Austrian Academy of Sciences will provide insights into the role of laypeople in linguistics and the Citizen Science project dedicated to processing historical dialect data from the Dictionary of Bavarian Dialects in Austria and South Tyrol (WBÖ). The project aims to analyze language change, bring cultural heritage to life, and actively engage Citizen Scientists.

The lecture will be held in a hybrid format: on-site at BOKU University (Lecture Hall 2, Wilhelm Exner Building, Vienna) and online via Zoom. Registration is required for external participants through the online form.
