COVIOCRIM pools academic knowledge and builds professional networks to effectively and sustainably address the challenges of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Georgia. The overarching goal is to build a professional network of practitioners within Georgia who deal with VAWG in order to ensure the effective implementation of necessary interventions in the future. COVIOCRIM aims to improve the sustainability of the fight against violence against women and children in Georgia through the following steps:
- Interactive and interdisciplinary designed trainings with first responders to improve their ability to respond appropriately to incidents of VAWG.
- The establishment of a certificate program at New Vision University (NVU), Tbilisi offers practitioners an academic opportunity to improve their qualifications, build networks and broaden interdisciplinary perspectives.
- The establishment of a Legal Clinic in Tbilisi offers victims of VAWG the possibility of quick and uncomplicated support.
- By promoting young professionals, it will also be possible to get future generations interested in the topic and raise their awareness of it.
