Confidential Counselling – CoCo
An additional Service for Incoming Scholarship Holders
Dear scholarship holder,
Welcome to Vienna! We hope your stay has been a pleasant one so far. Are you happy with your current personal situation? Are you feeling comfortable in Vienna? Or have you come across any problems which you didn’t expect?
How am I feeling?
- personal situation: homesickness, fear of failure, loneliness, difficulties in adapting to the new culture & surroundings
- research project or studies: conflicts with your supervisor/s or colleague/s at your department, problems with comprehension, language difficulties
- other problems with orientation, questions about everyday life, feedback about OeAD services
As I have been working with OeAD scholarship holders for more than 25 years, I am confident that I will be able to assist you with your concerns. Conversations can be conducted in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish.
Who will listen to me and support me?
I will support you - so you will be provided with answers to your questions, or will be able to find solutions to your problems on your own - so you will be able to identify and meet the right person to contact for your concerns (forwarding to e.g. the OeAD’s legal advice & consultancy department, the Student Guidance & Counselling Centre, psychological counselling etc.) I will also support you over a longer period of time, for instance if you find yourself in a difficult situation, or have an important decision to make.
What shall I expect?
Our conversations will be strictly confidential. Any content will only be passed on to others if you have given your explicit consent. This service is not tied to your study success, and does not substitute the monthly visit of the Regional Office Vienna!
What are the prerequisites?
Due to its size, the room of the Regional Office Vienna does not easily lend itself to private conversations. The high number of scholarship holders also makes it difficult to respond to such important questions and concerns.
Where and when can I talk about it?
We can meet either on Thursday afternoon between 14.00 and 16.00 in another session room within the OeAD House. I will be glad to listen to you, should you need an open ear.
What is there to do?
Please send an e-mail with “confidential counselling” in the subject line to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01/ 53408- 450 to arrange an appointment.
I'm looking forward to meet you!
