The EU project "IMPETUS" has set itself the goal of providing citizen science initiatives with access to innovative funding. To this end, the "Accelerator Program" and "The European Union Prize for citizen science" are currently running.
Accelerator Programme
Starting in 2023, there will be a total of three calls. The funded projects should contribute to the Green Deal and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This year, the themes are "Healthy Planet" and "Cities for Life".
There are two funding streams under the program:
- Kickstarting grants: For new projects, successful applicants will receive 20,000 euros, mentoring and training to help launch the initiative for a period of six months. The first call is expected to award 30 grants.
- Sustaining grants: For projects already underway, successful applicants will receive 10,000 euros, mentoring and training for a period of six months. Five grants are to be awarded in the first call.
Who can submit?
Individuals, legal entities, and consortia located in a country or territory eligible for Horizon Europe grants may apply.
