ECVET Experts Conference: Higher VET in Europe – Visions for the future

#Event#Fachveranstaltung#Europäische Programme#Vergleichbarkeit#Berufsbildung

In some European countries concepts for qualification pathways in “Higher VET” already exist. But to date Higher VET is quite far from being understood in the same manner throughout Europe. In Austria, we are at the starting point of a discussion process at experts' level that aims at defining a common vision of what might be labelled “Höhere Berufsbildung”. European transparency instruments, in particular ECVET and NQF/EQF, can support the process by delivering tools for quality assurance and a clearer structuring of qualifications.

Please note: For the purposes of this conference, "Higher VET" refers to qualifications and programmes offered at EQF levels 5 to 8 which do not fall within the overarching qualifications framework of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA) (i.e. qualifications offered under the Bologna system are not central to the conference theme).

Contributions to the conference will cover European tendencies as to Higher VET and will highlight approaches in selected European countries. Furthermore participants will share their visions for the future of Higher VET as to e.g. motivation for developing VET qualifications at higher levels, development of a common brand, quality assurance, validation and credit systems, new job profiles, National Qualifications Frameworks ... There will be enough room for discussions among each other and with the European Commission.

Our target groups are policy makers and social partners involved in vocational qualifications and European transparency instruments, representatives of the VET systems as well as national ECVET experts.

The working language will be English. Participation in the conference is free of charge. The Austrian NA will provide refreshments and a light lunch buffet. Hotel accommodation will be at participants’ charge.

Online registration is now open and is required of all participants. As places are limited, please make sure to register quickly. Registration will be closed on 16 November or once the maximum number of participants has been reached. If you have a disability or mobility difficulties and you need special assistance, please in advance.
